Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider which means that you might be eligible for partial reimbursement through your insurance.

I am happy to provide documentation for our sessions (called a superbill) that you submit to your insurance. (Please note that insurance requires a mental health diagnosis code for reimbursement.) Reimbursement rates vary by plan and not all insurance plans allow for out-of-network providers. Please check with your insurance directly with any questions.

What are the session fees?

$160 for a 50 minute session.

How often do we meet?

My clients see the most results when they put time and consistency into the process. This means weekly sessions are recommended, but not necessary. As we begin therapy, I ask that you commit to weekly appointments for the first 2 months as we get to know each other and find our groove. We can talk about dropping down from there.

Where are sessions held?

As of March 2024, I am only meeting remotely. I hope to begin offering in person sessions again Summer 24 in Northern NJ.

What's your training in?

You can read more about me and my approach here, but here's the nitty gritty for those who are interested. I'm a licensed mental health counselor (NYS #005755) and licensed professional counselor (NJ #37PC01022200) specializing in mindfulness-based therapies. I have specialized training and practice in the following: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT),  Yoga for trauma, Mindfulness-Based Stress-Reduction, Compassion Fatigue, Perinatal Mental Health, Internal Family Systems, and Anti-Oppressive Practices.

Do you offer sliding scale appointments?

I have limited availability for sliding scale appointments based on financial need and require a weekly commitment. Feel free to contact me to talk more about sliding scale availability and policies.
